This audiophile optimised SSD is intentional to have your audio frequency sound improved

Microcomputer audio frequency has come a long way ended the years. A decent sound card is well worth the money. Audiophiles are known to spend exorbitant amounts of money in the sideline of audio excellence, but in that location are limits. An audiophile SSD though? Catch the tin foil hat.

Tom's Ironware drew our attending towards the Audiophile Style forums, where a developer proudly showed unsatisfactory a 1TB NVMe SSD with several optimisations that aim to provide built 3D good and "dynamic sound no more other SSD presently can offer or even close to." Yeah. Sure. Mighty.

The eyeglasses of the driving look good. There's a 1TB mental ability, or 333GB in pSLC mode which is supposedly the mode that makes the trick happen. There's an external clock oscillator, Audionote capacitors, enlarged PCB copper isolation, gold plated connectors and even an external 5V power input. That would each sound pretty good if we were dealings with analog signals. Attention to detail on the electronics side of things will usually improve analogue sound quality, though maybe non such on the corporal storage side. At that place are different more influential parts in between the SSD and your ears.

The problem with this concept is that an SSD stores binary data that's stored in 1s and 0s. Those 1s and 0s should not encounter whatever interference or alteration until they reach the audio processing part of the PC or DAC where they're converted to analogue. That's the area where electronic components will affect audio fidelity, and by that time, the influence of the SSD is irrelevant. Since the entrepot average is seemingly so important, I wonder if an audiophile thinks about the CD that cost 10c to manufacture when they pop information technology into a $2000 Cadmium player?

Its newsworthy reading some of the comments from users on the Audiophile Mode forums WHO really do believe that their ears can detect the difference of opinion between this SSD and a regular consumer drive. I wonder if a blind audio test would unveil the same? Confirmation bias at its finest.

I actually consider myself a bit of an audio buff. A high-quality set of speakers is a real investment. I have a set of Klipsch Reference speakers that I've had for over tenner years, and they're worthy every one of the roughly $5000 I spent on them. But my Personal computer connects to a Rotel amp via S/PDIF and sol this SSD would have incisively zero influence on what comes kayoed of my speakers.

We merely have to laugh at at the absurdity of an audiophile SSD. There's no information on cost, but surely it won't get close to this $10000 Ethernet cable. Or will it?  Somebody with overmuch money will pip out. A muggins and his money are soon parted.

Chris' play experiences go under back to the mid-nineties when he conned his parents into buying an 'educational PC' that was conveniently overpowered to play Condemn and Tie Fighter. He improved a love of extreme overclocking that destroyed his savings despite the cheaper hardware on offer via his job at a PC store. To give more LN2 he began moonlighting as a reviewer for VR-Zone before jump the fence to work for MSI Australia. Since then, helium's departed back to journalism, sky-high reviewing the latest and greatest components for PC &A; Tech Government agency, Personal computer Powerplay and currently Australian Microcomputer powder store and PC Gamer. Chris still puts Interahamw too umteen hours into Borderlands 3, always striving to get along a more businesslike cause of death.
